Why nonpartisanship matters
Michigan school board elections are nonpartisan by law. The ballot lists names, not parties, because the work of a board member is operational, not ideological: budgets, contracts, student outcomes, and public timelines. When a candidate keeps the race nonpartisan, voters judge ideas on their merits instead of party labels.
A nonpartisan frame raises the floor for everyone on the ballot. It forces each candidate to explain what they would actually do, how they would vote, and how they would be accountable — rather than relying on party affiliation to do the talking. That makes the whole field sharper and more responsive to families.
School boards succeed when members from different backgrounds can find common ground on measurable goals: reading growth, special education compliance, safe buildings, and stable budgets. A nonpartisan board room keeps the focus on student evidence, not party-line pressure, so bipartisan coalitions can form around what actually works.
Dr. Hubbard runs without a party slate and declines partisan attack framing. The campaign welcomes volunteers, surrogates, and endorsers from any party — or none at all — who want public decisions made in public, on the record, and on time. That is the standard this kit is built to support.

Surrogate program · Step 1 of 3
A political surrogate campaigns, speaks, or appears in media on behalf of a candidate. Surrogates multiply reach — attending local events, defending the platform, and connecting with the voter groups they already belong to. Pick your track below and the campaign builds your sign-up, your talking points, and your first ask for you.
Step 2 · Your three-beat script
Name the stake
Say it in your own words: the moment this district cost your family time, money, or trust.
Name the fix
Allan puts decisions in public view — published materials, published timelines, published reasoning.
Name the ask
Vote all the way down the ballot — school board is nonpartisan, so look for the name: HUBBARD.
Step 3 · Get designated
Nonpartisan by design. No party slate, no personal attacks, no student information shared — see the do-not-say list in the speaking guide.
